BCAAs - what is it & how do they work?
The abbreviation "BCAAs" stands for Branched Chained Amino Acids. BCAAs are a necessary component of the transport of energy and nitrogen between the muscles and the liver. The acids leucine, valine and isoleucine support protein synthesis in the body - that is, they help in the production of muscle protein as well as in muscle building. These are the essential amino acids leucine, valine and isoleucine. The usual requirement for amino acids is usually covered by food, but many athletes supplement this with additional BCAAs in powder or capsule form, especially after hard training, to speed up regeneration and also muscle building. In addition, the three amino acids regulate the blood sugar level and thus prevent not only the breakdown of muscles in a calorie deficit, but also age-related muscle breakdown.

What is glutamine & how does it work?
The non-essential amino acid L-glutamine is vital for the organism. Glutamine accelerates the replenishment of glycogen stores - this allows the body to regenerate faster and gives it much more energy for the next training session. Glutamine also strengthens the immune system: the human organism is weakened after long and intensive training sessions, making it susceptible to colds and other ailments - glutamine reduces this risk. It gains energy and is especially important for those cells that divide or renew very quickly, such as the muscle cells in the body. Probably the most important and best known effect of glutamine is improved, faster muscle recovery, especially during an intense training schedule. Glutamine is usually produced in sufficient quantities by the body, but during intensive training phases the supply can be increased either with the help of supplements or by eating the appropriate foods: dairy products such as curd cheese, yoghurt, wheat and soy products, or eggs and walnuts are particularly rich in glutamine.
